In an innovative, first-of-its-kind study, researchers from the University of
Illinois at Chicago and the ADA Health Policy Institute (HPI) examine how
dentists view different aspects of group practice. Dentists working in large
group settings reported more satisfaction with income and benefits than dentists
in solo practice, as well as less stress. In a related study, the researchers
compare career satisfaction in two types of large group practices: those
affiliated with a dental management organization, commonly known as DSOs, and
those completely owned and operated by dentists.
