Maintaining a website and a social media presence is now essential for dentists and their practices. That can be a daunting task, especially because it comes in addition to helping patients, managing staff and keeping the practice running day-to-day. In this presentation, ADA Senior Associate General Counsel Jeffrey Fraum highlights the legal requirements and pitfalls dentists face when marketing via the web and social media. As a supplementary course to the American Dental Association publication, "A Dentist’s Guide to the Law: 246 Things Every Dentist Should Know," this presentation is most beneficial when viewed in conjunction with reading the book.

This presentation covers:
• Legal limits on marketing and advertising a dental practice
• Finding reputable web designers and how to contract with them
• How HIPAA applies when designing a website and communicating with patients via social media
• Online accessibility standards
• Avoiding "drive-by" accessibility lawsuits
• Avoiding copyright infringements with your practice website and social media
• Responding to negative reviews on social media

This course is $49 for ADA members and $69 for non-members
