ADA Dental Coding Certificate Live-Streamed Course (books included)

Join coding experts, Christopher Bulnes, DMD, Steven Snyder, DDS, and Mark MiHalo, DDS during this virtual course to extend and hone attendees coding expertise. The CDT Dental Coding course will provide necessary foundational knowledge, skill practice and reinforcement to participants in order to accurately file claims using the CDT codes.

This course will provide learners with the resources they need to support performance on the job and enable them to practice using these resources in realistic scenario-based simulations they might encounter during a typical workday.

After the course, attendees can choose to demonstrate competency with the knowledge and skills in an electronic assessment, after which they will receive a certificate of completion.

Sugar-sweetened beverage consumption and caries experience — An examination of children and adults in the United States, National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (October 2020 Article 3)

Background. The authors’ aim was to examine the association between sugar-sweetened beverage (SSB) consumption and the prevalence and severity of the caries experience in children and adults in the United States.

Teaching and utilization of silver diamine fluoride and Hall-style crowns in US pediatric dentistry residency programs (October 2020 Article 2)

Background. Nonsurgical caries management, particularly silver diamine fluoride (SDF) and Hallstyle crowns, present alternative options for populations that have barriers to traditional treatment. The authors aimed to assess changes in the teaching and utilization of these modalities in pediatric dental residency programs.

Intraoral radiographs — A comparison of dose and risk reduction with collimation and thyroid shielding (October 2020 Article 1)

Background.The National Commission on Radiation Protection and Measurements has reinforced its recommendation for the use of rectangular collimation for intraoral radiography in its Report No. 177 published in 2019. This study compared effective dose (E) using circular and rectangular collimator (RC) modalities .

Regulatory Compliance During COVID-19 (Recorded Webinar)

Course Overview
OSHA compliance is more important than ever during the COVID-19 pandemic. This timely program covers the required personal protective equipment, engineering controls, and written policies you must have to be in compliance with both OSHA’s recently published guidance for dental practices and CDC’s multitude of recommendations for healthcare settings. We will review the monitoring of patients and employees for COVID-19, disinfection, equipment considerations, and handling employee exposures. Course content also includes required annual review of the Bloodborne Pathogens Standard and infection control guidelines.

Learning objectives:
• Learn the required PPE requirements during the pandemic. 
• Develop and implement a Respiratory Protection Program.
• Understand respirators and fit testing.
• Identify process for screening patients for COVID-19.
• Discuss disinfection of treatment rooms and HEPA filtration.
