This course originally presented at the ADA SmileCon
Virtual 2021.
This course is for clinicians wanting a fundamental
understanding of the official proceedings from the 2017 World Workshop on the
Classification of Periodontal and Peri-Implant Diseases and Conditions,
co-presented by the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP) and the European
Federation of Periodontology (EFP).
The result of the
AAP and EFP gathering resulted in a redesigned disease classification framework
that guides comprehensively centered, patient care plans. This session will
present an overview of this landmark gathering and guide the clinician in
creating a periodontal diagnostic statement.
