Overview
This recorded webinar covers the ectodermal dysplasias, the associated dental manifestations and age appropriate dental treatment.

Learning Objectives:
• Identify the common co-existing medical signs and symptoms associated with the ectodermal dysplasia (ED) syndromes.
• Identify the genetic and molecular pathways involved
• Identify the oral health issues facing an individual affected by ED at preschool age
• Recognize the variability in dental manifestations and oral soft tissue alterations associated with ED and its role in making an accurate diagnosis and developing appropriate treatment approaches.
• Identify different types of procedures directed at reshaping and placing teeth in relationship to the age and psychosocial development of the child.
• Recognize the difference between efficacy and effectiveness when applied to treatment with dental implants.
• Understand the role of dental implants in treating patients affected by ectodermal dysplasias
• Evaluate and assess the variable clinical presentations of ED, how they relate to age and psychological presentation, to provide effective and appropriate care keeping long term treatment goals in mind.
• Preparation and execution of interdisciplinary treatment plans for implant supported and retained restorations.
• Understand the role of patient advocacy groups and the resources provided by the NFED.
